Pooja Vastrakar is an Indian cricketer who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. She is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm medium-fast and bats right-handed. 

In February 2018, She made her international debut against South Africa.

Pooja Vastrakar Biography

Pooja Vastrakar was born on Saturday, 25 September 1999 in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Her father’s name is Bandhan Ram Vastrakar, who is a retired employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). She lost her mother at the age of 10.

She is the youngest of seven siblings, which include four sisters and two brothers. (1) She completed her schooling at Gyanodya Higher Secondary School. 

She initially started playing cricket with the boys in his neighbourhood. Later she started going to the stadium and practising. One day, Ashutosh Shrivastava, the coach, observed her and decided to give her formal training for cricket.

Srivastava began training Pooja Vastrakar at the Gulmohar Cricket Academy, which was an all-boys facility. Vastrakar was the only girl who took training there. 

Career 

On 10 February 2018, she made her ODI debut against South Africa.

She made her T20I debut for India Women against South Africa Women on 13 February 2018.

In May 2021, she was named to India’s Test squad against the England women’s cricket team. She made her Test debut on 16 June 2021 for India against England.
