Nehal Wadhera was born on 4 September 2000 in Ludhiana, Punjab. His father, Kamal Wadhera, is an industrialist. His mother’s name is Gurpreet Wadhera. He has an elder sister named Rhythm Wadhera.
He started playing cricket at a very young age. He received his coaching at the Ludhiana District Cricket Association. He completed his graduation from Satish Chander Dhawan Government College, Ludhiana, Punjab. (1)

He also played for Punjab under-16 and under-19 cricket teams.
He made his first-class debut for Punjab on 3 January 2023.
In 2023, he was bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹20 lakh in the IPL auction for the 2023 Indian Premier League.
On 2 April 2023, he made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians.
